Dr. Brian O'Donnell, DBA
Dr. Brian O’Donnell is an international consultant specializing in public policy, economic strategy, and legislative advocacy. He holds a first-class Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) with a specialization in enterprise policy, complemented by a master’s in finance, a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration from University College Dublin (IPA), and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Ulster.
Since 2022, Brian has operated as an independent business and public affairs consultant. In this role, he spearheaded a landmark case before the European Commission on behalf of a coalition of Irish SMEs, driving significant ongoing policy and economic reforms at both the EU and Irish government levels.
Prior to this, Brian served 14 years as an Irish Senator, playing a pivotal leadership role in securing billions of euros in funding for regional and economic development across Ireland. He guided the drafting and successful passage of over 50 major legislative initiatives that fostered innovation and growth. As a consultant, he has also successfully advocated for over €10 million in public and private sector funding supporting innovation and sectoral expansion.
Recognized as a leading CETA specialist, Brian advises Irish and Canadian firms navigating complex international trade, regulatory compliance, and market entry challenges. His extensive experience as a political, economic, and public policy advisor informs a pragmatic, results-oriented approach.
